EMU faces Broncos tonight after earning signature win

Eastern Michigan earned its signature win for first-year head coach Rob Murphy last Saturday, ending Ball State’s 11-game home winning streak with a 51-48 victory.
Now, EMU will try to push its record to 3-1 in Mid-American Conference play tonight when the Eagles host Western Michigan at the Convocation Center. The Broncos will try to reach the .500 mark after starting the season 0-6, including losses to Duke, Purdue and Gonzaga.
WMU and Ball State were picked to finish 1-2 in the MAC West preseason poll by media members.
The Eagles (7-10) came back from a five-point deficit in the final minutes, ending the game with an 8-0 run to upset Ball State. Quintin Dailey, son for the former NBA player with the same name, started the comeback with a three-pointer and two free throws. Antonio Green won the game with a three-pointer with 1.5 seconds left.
Murphy has one of two high-profile transfers on the floor in 7-footer Da’Shonte Riley (Detroit Country Day) who started his college career at Syracuse. Glenn Bryant, a 6-7 forward who transffered from Arkansas, will be eligible to play next season.
The Broncos are 8-3 since their season-opening six-game losing streak, including a dominating performance Saturday in a 74-52 rout of Toledo Saturday.
