After falling behind, Michigan gets a flurry

Ohio scored the first five points of the game, but Michigan responded with a 9-2 spurt to take its first lead. Tim Hardaway Jr. has five points for Michigan, including a 3-pointer.

The matchup to watch is the point guards — Michigan’s Trey Burke and Ohio’s D.J. Cooper. In the first five minutes, Cooper has five points and Burke has two. At some points of the game, Stu Douglass will guard Cooper, giving Burke a breather.

The Wolverines were worried about slow start, but picked up the pace early behind Hardaway and Burke. Jordan Morgan picked up an early foul, which means Evan Smotrycz will see significant time in the first half.
