After falling to its biggest deficit, 35-22, with less than three minutes left, Michigan finished with a 7-0 spurt to cut Ohio’s lead to 35-29 at halftime. Michigan hasn’t played its best defensive game, allowing the Bobcats to shoot better than 60 percent from the field for much of the first half.
D.J. Cooper has paced Ohio with 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting. He’s also pestered Trey Burke, who has four points and four assists. Tim Hardaway Jr. lead the Wolverines with 10 points so far, but U-M needs to get other players involved. Evan Smotrycz has six points but Zack Novak is scoreless and has two fouls.
