MSU set to face LIU Brooklyn, St. Louis awaits

Michigan State will finally hit the floor in about 30 minutes in the final game of the night here in Columbus against LIU Brooklyn.

The Spartans are the top seed in the West Region and are hoping to avoid the upset bug that hit the region earlier when No. 2 Missouri fell to No. 15 Norfolk State.

Michigan State will be happy to run with LIU Brooklyn, a team that averages more than 81 points a game.

If the Spartans advance, they will face No. 9 Saint Louis, which kocked off No. 8 Memphis, 61-54, on Friday. Kwamain Mitchell scored 22 points for the Billikens (26-7) while Brian Conklin added 16.
