Ohio pulls ahead behind strong inside play

Ohio’s game plan appears to be getting the ball inside and working against Michigan’s interior. The Bobcats are on an 8-2 run — all of the points coming off inside baskets. D.J. Cooper, who has seven points, has been able to wiggle inside and finish at the rim and Reggie Keely and Jon Smith have been able to make early contributions.

For Michigan, Evan Smotrycz hit a jumper, which will help with his confidence and Tim Hardaway Jr. has played well. It’s a time for Stu Douglass and Zack Novak to step up their production, though.
