In what could become a disturbing trend for Michigan State, Louisville’s outside touch hasn’t cooled off as the Cardinals lead 20-15 with just under four minutes left in the first half.
Louisville is 6-for-12 from 3-point range after shooting 31 percent from deep on the season. Even center Gorgui Dieng is getting in on the act, hitting his first triple of the season from the top of the key. Louisville has only made one 2-point field goal.
MSU showed some brief spark on two fast-break buckets by Derrick Nix and Brandon Wood to cut Louisville’s lead to 17-15, but Dieng’s three put the Cardinals back up five.
