Spartans falling apart as Louisville starts to pull away

Peyton Siva had all day to throw it down as he was on the receiving end of an alley-oop. Then Michigan State threw it into a turnover on the inbound, leading to two free throws as Louisville built a 35-25 lead with 12:57 to play in the second half of Thursday’s West Regional semifinal game in Phoenix, Ariz.

This has been, quite frankly, an embarrassing performance thus far by the Spartans. There’s no spark, no fire. Nothing. No sense of urgency whatsoever. It’s easy to write off the first half thinking they’ll make adjustments at halftime. So far, that hasn’t happened. Tom Izzo called timeout to talk it over and if he can’t make something happen here, this game could turn into a rout very, very quickly.

No one looks good for MSU right now. That needs to change fast if the Spartans want to avoid being eliminated.
