Spartans offense goes cold as team bows out to Louisville 57-44

Michigan State won a share of the Big Ten regular season title, then won the Big Ten Tournament and earned a No. 1 seed.

The Spartans looked nothing like the team that accomplished all that Thursday, falling 57-44 to No. 4-seed Louisville in a West Regional semifinal in Phoenix, Ariz.

From the onset, MSU’s offense was cold, and it remained that way throughout. The Spartans finished with more turnovers (15) than field goals made (14). Louisville, which sank seven 3-pointers in the first half, took over in the second half, playing a much better and more complete game, especially in the second half.

Draymond Green led the Spartans with 13 points and 16 rebounds, becoming MSU’s leading career rebounder in the process.  Chane Behanan led the Cardinals with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Louisville advances to play the winner of tonight’s Marquette-Florida game.
