And now ... the second half

Michigan trails defending national champion Alabama 31-7 heading into the second half.

Here are some numbers to chew on from the first half:

Michigan had 119 yards on 29 plays — that includes the 71-yard pass from Denard Robinson to Jeremy Gallon that set up the Wolverines only first-half score.

Robinson, the Wolverines’ leading rusher last season, had two carries for nine yards, including the six-yard touchdown run with 2:20 left in the first half. He is 5-of-16 for 99 yards and has two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

Alabama had 280 yards of offense, including 140 yards rushing on 19 carries.
