Michigan State padded its lead with a 26-yard field goal from Dan Conroy.
The interesting parts of the drive were the personnel changes from the Spartans.
Jeremy Langford and Andre Sims Jr. got time at wide receiver while Larry Caper and Nick Hill were in the backfield. Caper’s 39-yard run sparked the drive.
But the big move was Lawrence Thomas at fullback. He paved the way for Caper and even caught a 7-yard pass for a first down.
