Michigan coach Brady Hoke makes clear there are no guarantees at any position.
But some are obviously more set than others.
With cornerback Blake Countess out for the season with a torn ACL, the job is open to competition. Courtney Avery, a junior, is the starter, but sophomores Raymon Taylor and Delonte Hollowell and freshman Terry Richards are getting a chance in practice to earn playing time.
“They’re evaluated every day,” Hoke said. “If you have a bad day around here, it’s pretty easy to get shipped to the second or third team.
“Courtney, Raymon and Delonte are all competing. I think that will continue to be a competition on a weekly basis.”
