Michigan scored on its first possession of the game, taking a 7-0 lead over UMass.
Quarterback Denard Robinson hit freshman tight end Devin Funchess on a 26-yard touchdown pass. It was Funchess’ fifth catch of the season and second touchdown.
Robinson was 2-of-2 passing for 42 yards during the drive. He now has 5,381 career yards, which moves him to sixth on Michigan’s all-time list, passing Tom Brady.
