Eastern Michigan takes lead against Michigan State

Michigan State said this week they needed to avoid the hangover from last week’s loss to Notre Dame.

It has failed to do so.

Eastern Michigan took advantage of a fumble by Bennie Fowler and took a 7-3 lead with 3:58 to play in the first half when Tyler Benz hit Donald Scott on a 23-yard scoring pass.

Fowler was tackled after making the catch on a screen and lost the ball. It was recovered byEastern Michigan’s Justin Cudworth and it took only one play for the Eagles to go ahead.
