Michigan defense showing signs of improvement

Michigan’s coaches were looking at the positives this week after the 13-6 loss at Notre Dame last Saturday.
Defensive coordinator Greg Mattison said Wednesday night on the “Inside Michigan Football” radio show that there were several highlights, including the Wolverines’ first two interceptions of the season. He also praised the linebackers.
“I thought the linebacking corps had their most improvement,” Mattison said.
Michigan coach Brady Hoke was encouraged by the fact that although the Wolverines gave up multiple turnovers, the Irish were held to 13 points.
“Our defense gave us a chance,” Hoke said this week. “I thought guys played really hard when we watched the tape – white jerseys getting to the football. That’s a sign that we’re playing a little faster.”
