MSU fails to convert on two turnovers, trails OSU

Michigan State’s defense closed the half playing outstanding, even forcing two turnovers.

But the Michigan State offense could do nothing after safety Kurtis Drummond intercepted a Braxton Miller pass and Chris Norman recovered a fumble by Miller late in the second quarter.

After the interception, Michigan State was forced to punt and after the fumble recovery, the Spartans got into field-goal range only to see Dan Conroy miss a 42-yarder.

Conroy is now 7-for-12 on the season and has missed a field goal in all five games.
