Revamped Michigan State offense ready to take on Indiana

In an effort to jumpstart a stagnant passing game, Michigan State is shaking up the lineup today at Indiana.

True freshman Aaron Burbridge gets the start at wide receiver today against the Hoosiers as junior Bennie Fowler moves to a backup role.

Today should be the perfect day for the Spartans to get the offense going considering the Hoosiers rank last in the Big Ten in total defense.

Michigan State will also try to re-establish a running game that was stymied last week in a loss to Ohio State.

The Spartans are dealing with several injuries along the offensive line as center Travis Jackson was lost for the season after breaking his leg against Ohio State. Redshirt freshman Jack Allen has moved over from left guard to take Jackson’s spot while junior Blake Treadwell takes over at left guard. This will be Treadwell’s first start this season after breaking his leg early in fall camp. He started the first three games at center last season.

Michigan State is 19-9-1 all-time at Memorial Stadium and won its last appearance here in 2008, 42-29.

Kickoff is less than an hour away and it’s a perfect day for football – partly sunny and about 50 degrees.
