Iowa gets on the board with a field goal

Iowa’s offense finally got moving in the second quarter, taking advantage of a big kick return to cut Michigan State’s lead to 10-3 on a 23-yard field goal from Mike Meyer with 4:09 left in the second quarters.

Jordan Cotton returned a kickoff for a touchdown, but an illegal block brought the play back. Iowa started at the Michigan State 47 and moved down the field on its best offensive drive.

But after getting to the Michigan State 5-yard line, the drive stalled resulting in the field goal.
