Michigan has built a 10-0 lead over Illinois in a steady rain, but for several minutes here at Michigan Stadium, the focus was on the right wrist of senior quarterback Denard Robinson.
Robinson left the game late on the last scoring drive with what appeared to be an injury to his right wrist. Robinson was replaced by Russ Bellomy.
According to a sideline report from U-M radio, Robinson is expected to return to the game, as is left guard Ricky Barnum, who left with an injury to his right leg. Robinson is 3-of-3 for 110 yards and a touchdown to Jeremy Gallon. Tailback Fitz Toussaint has 20 yards rushing, while Robinson has 18.
Michigan reached the Illinois 1-yard line on Robinson’s run, but the Wolverines could not punch it in and settled for an 18-yard field goal by Brendan Gibbons.
