Michigan State came out in the second half stopping Michigan on its first offensive series and then marched down the field with an efficient 80-yard drive to take the lead.
The Spartans, which entered the game as a nine-point underdog, leads 7-6.
MSU quarterback Andrew Maxwell completed a two-yard pass to Paul Lang for the score with 7:19 left. That snapped Michigan’s streak of holding teams without a touchdown for six quarters.
Maxwell is now 15-of-21 for 141 yards.
