With Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson on the sideline with what ESPN reports is a nerve injury to his right (throwing) elbow, the Wolverines have struggled to move the ball.
But the Wolverines’ Brendan Gibbons has added a 38-yard field goal late in the third quarter at Nebraska.
Nebraska leads 16-9. Michigan has failed to score a touchdown in seven quarters.
Backup quarterback Russell Bellomy has had a challenging outing since relieving Robinson late in the second quarter. But the Wolverines got a boost from the officials on their last scoring drive getting 30 penalty yards on one play, giving them the ball at the Nebraska 48-yard line.
Michigan reached the 18 but had to settle on Gibbons’ third field goal of the game.
