Andrew Maxwell hit Bennie Fowler with a 12-yard pass in overtime to give Michigan State a 16-13 win overWisconsin.
It ended a two-game skid for the Spartans (5-4, 2-3 Big Ten), who hadn’t won at Camp Randall Stadium since 2001.
Michigan State trailed most of the game but put together its best drive of the day when it needed it most, going 75 yards in 12 plays to tie the game, 10-10, on a 5-yard shovel pass from Andrew Maxwell to Le’Veon Bell with 1:08 left in the game.
Wisconsin (6-3, 3-2) got one more shot, but Kyler Elsworth sacked Danny O’Brien to end regulation and send the game to overtime.
Maxwell finished 23-for-37 for 204 and the one touchdown while Bell ran for 73 yards on 20 carries.
It was the first home loss for Wisconsin since 2009. The Badgers had won 21 straight.
