Just three plays into the second quarter, Wisconsin jumped on the board first with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Joel Stave to tight end Jacob Pedersen.
The play capped off a 10-play, 90-yard drive for the Badgers that took 5:23 off the clock.
Michigan State put together a solid drive later in the first quarter, but couldn’t produce any points and were forced to punt.
Andrew Maxwell was 5-for-8 in the first quarter, but Stave was even better for the Badgers, going 6-for-6 for 79 yards.
