Devin Gardner, starting at quarterback for Michigan in relief of injured Denard Robinson, made a spectacular play on third and long to tied the game at Minnesota.
Gardner, on third and 17, scrambled and found Drew Dileo wide open in the end zone for a 45-yard touchdown with 7:50 left in the first half.
It is 7-7 at TCF Bank Stadium.
Gardner drove the Wolverines 91 yards on 12 plays for the score. Michigan did not get its first down of the game until early in this drive when tailback Thomas Rawls rushed four yards on third and one.
Minnesota scored to open the second quarter.
