Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner has led the Wolverines on another long scoring drive.
Gardner, playing in relief of starter Denard Robinson, who is out with a nerve injury to his right (throwing) arm, has led Michigan to a 21-7 lead at Minnesota late in the third quarter. Jeremy Gallon made a stunning, leaping catch in the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown on third down.
Gardner has led Michigan on scoring drives of 91 and 90 yards.
The Wolverines had gone nine quarters without a touchdown before breaking that streak in the second quarter.
Minnesota had a chance to put points on the board on its first series of the second half, but the Gophers went for a fake field goal that was botched.
