Michigan takes 14-7 lead over Northwestern

Michigan and Northwestern traded fumbles, but the Wolverines managed to take advantage and now lead, 14-7 at Michigan Stadium.
Freshman linebacker Joe Bolden recovered a fumble at the Northwestern 37-yard line, and 10 plays later, Michigan scored on a one-yard run by Thomas Rawls.
Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner is 5-of-9 for 65 yards passing, and he has 48 yards on seven carries, including a stunning 17-yard run during this scoring drive.
The Wolverines had what appeared to be a costly turnover, however, when Fitz Toussaint, after a big gain, fumbled deep in Northwestern territory. The Wildcats got the ball at its 3-yard line but their drive ended on a fumble.
