Northwestern reached the Michigan 8-yard line but had to settle for a 34-yard field goal.
NU quarterback Kain Colter took a nine-yard sack from Craig Roh on third down, and the Wildcats’ Jeff Budzien made the field goal to take a 24-14 lead late in the third quarter at Michigan Stadium.
The Wildcats have 187 rushing yards so far. Michigan entered the game giving up an average 145.4 yards rushing.
