Field goal gives Michigan State its first lead

Michigan State didn’t take long to move back into Northwestern territory but failed to reach the end zone.

Dan Conroy kicked a 35-yard field goal to put Michigan State ahead for the first time with 12:52 to play in the first half.

Le’Veon Bell injured his right shoulder early in the series but returned late to pick up a first down. He has 27 yards on nine carries.
