Senior quarterback Denard Robinson has started in his final home game at Michigan Stadium – at tailback.
Robinson has missed the last two and a half games with an injury to the ulnar nerve in his right arm. The injury causes numbness and has limited his ability to grip the football.
Devin Gardner has started the last two weeksat quarterback and led Michigan to victories in both, including last Saturday’s 38-31 overtime victory against Northwestern.
Robinson, wearing a blue protective sleeve, had a three-yard gain on his first carry of the game.
Michigan coach Brady Hoke, earlier in the week, did not shoot down the possibility of using Robinson in a limited role today or getting him in on a play for symbolic reasons.
