Adams' interception helps Michigan State take early lead

Senior cornerback Johnny Adams helped get the Spartans on the board early with an interception on Minnesota’s first drive of the game.

Adams picked off a third-down pass from Minnesota’s Phillip Nelson, but the Spartans did little after that.

Le’Veon Bell picked up three yards on first down followed by two incomplete passes.

Dan Conroy then connected on a 48-yard field goal to put the Spartans ahead 3-0 with 11:24 left in the first quarter.
