Michigan escaped without giving up any points late in the third quarter, but Ohio State continues to lead, 23-21.
The Buckeyes reached the Michigan 10-yard line, but a high snap over quarterback Braxton Miller’s head cost them 12 yards. Then, Drew Basil, who had made three field goals in the game, missed left.
Basil made his third field goal of the game, this time from 28 yard to give the Buckeyes a 23-21 lead with 8:12 left in the third quarter.
Michigan had the bal first in the second half but made a curious call going for it with Denard Robinson on fourth down at the U-M 48-yard line. Robinson was stopped by OSU linebacker Ryan Shazier, and the Wolverines turned the ball over on downs, giving OSU the ball at the 46-yard line.
The Wolverines led 21-20 at halftime.
