Might want to set your DVR for ESPN at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The network’s “E:60″ newsmagazine show will be profiling Tigers ace Justin Verlander, with cameras following him to his home in Virginia, commercial shoots in Los Angeles and to Detroit for Opening Day.
“E:60″ will break down Verlander’s love of all things fast — food, cars and fastballs, to name a few — but will point out his career didn’t take off until that no-hitter in Toronto last May, when he finally slowed down.
Interestingly, ESPN also points out Verlander was so fidgety as a kid, doctors prescribed Ritalin. His parents, Richard and Kathy, said no way.
It sounds like the piece was reported by Buster Olney, one of the best in the business.
Check out the preview above.
Verlander, by the way, takes the mound tonight, in Cleveland.
