Tigers make two minor cuts

Lakeland, Fla. — This will start to pick up the pace, the Tigers sending players back to minor league camp.

The reality is, with just single-game days remaining, there’s not enough at-bats or innings to go around.

So, on Friday morning, they made their second batch of minor cuts, sending pitchers Michael Morrison and Ryan Robowski off to the back diamonds. No big shock there. They weren’t going to make this team.

Morrison, a right-hander taken in the 29th round in 2009 out of Cal State Fullerton, pitched in three games, allowing three runs on three hits in three innnings. He struck out four and walked three.

Robowski, a left-hander selected in the 16th round in 2009 (by the Arizona Diamondbacks) out of Ohio Dominican University, saw action in two games and allowed six runs on four hits. He had three walks and three K’s.
