Mary Kramer, publisher of Crain’s Detroit Business, and I will be sharing the “big chair” on 760-WJR starting at 5:30 a.m. tomorrow, Oct. 2, as we co-host the Paul W. Smith Show while the Big Dog is out on station business. Mary and I have been regular contributors to his show, in my case dating back at least to 1999 when I was the European correspondent for The Detroit News. My former News colleague, the esteemed NFL writer Mike O’Hara, will be joining us to do sports and will, I’m sure, let us know what’s ailing the Detroit Lions and whether we can expect them to find their mojo again. Tune in during your morning drive or follow us online.
On Wednesday, Gov. Rick Snyder will take the chair for Paul W. and be joined by the state’s Big Two athletic directors — the University of Michigan’s David Brandon and Michigan State’s Mark Hollis. They will share sports report duties of Sports Director Steve Courtney, also away for a few days.
