Shop Detroit for Small Business Saturday

I’m so excited to be part of another great Shop Detroit event this year. Detroit Experience Factory (DXF) and Build Institute are proud to present the 11th annual Shop Detroit in partnership with American Express’ Small Business Saturday. The best part of this day is seeing everyone connect with the over 200 Detroit businesses in greater downtown and not just for the holidays, but making connections that last year round. Shop Detroit will take place this Saturday, November 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Shop Detroit will offer information about local retailers, special discounts, freebies and a free shuttle service provided by the Office of the M-1 Rail, Michigan Science Center, and Very Special Van Service to retail options throughout greater downtown. The event is free but RSVP’s are encouraged. You can sign up at http://www.weknowdetroit.com/shop. All day $3 parking will be available in the Z Lot downtown sponsored by Universal Parking.

We are excited to partner with Build Institute this year to host one of their rotating-pop-up marketplaces. The D:hive Welcome Center will feature a Build Bazaar showcasing aspiring 30 entrepreneurs launching their businesses. The event features an exciting and diverse range of local vendors selling everything from artisanal candles and soap to fresh baked goods and handcrafted jewelry. A full list of vendors is available at www.buildinstitute.org.

Each year we get to feature more and more small businesses and really expand what Shop Detroit offers. This year we are excited to announce our DXF Shopping Checklist Challenge to encourage people to discover amazing small businesses they might not have known about before, more info on that coming soon!
