Southeast Michigan anime fans looking for something to do this weekend should head on over to Troy for Go! Daiko-Con.
The former Anime Detroit convention starts today and runs through Sunday at Troy Metropolitan Hotel, 5500 Crooks Road. At-the-door prices range form $20-$35, plus fancier packages that include rooms and other goodies.
This year’s guests are Johnny Yong Bosch (“Trigun,” “Bleach”) and his band, Eyeshine, plus Funimation stalwarts Greg Ayres (“Negima”) and Alexis Tipton (“Baka and Test”).
Events include the ever-popular Masquerade, a couple dances, Eyeshine concert, anime karaoke and various panels, including How to Make Your Own Plushie Mascot and discussions about steampunk style and other topics.
I’ll post some photos from the festivities later this weekend.
