When I got two things in the mail on the same day involving the undead, I figured that was the sign for a themed giveaway.
If you’ve been watching “The Walking Dead” and are curious about just what’s up with those zombies, you’ll like the new book “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Zombies” by Matt Mogk, from Simon & Schuster.
Mixing actual zombie lore with a dose of humor and information culled from years of pop culture appearances, Mogk (author of “World War Z” and “The Zombie Survival Guide”) covers topics such as history, zombie brain function, eating habits, zombie fanaticism and surviving an outbreak.
Vampires, the other big monster these days, are the subject of “Dead Cert” from Shout! Factory. The British horror flick is billed as a mix of “From Dusk Til Dawn” and “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” as vampires clash with British gangsters.
