Win 'Old City Blues,' 'Bleedout' from Archaia

To prove the adage comics aren’t just for kids these days, I’ve got a couple hardcover graphic novels from Archaia that are targeted at older readers.

“Old City Blues” takes place in a future Greece, where high-tech criminals and greedy corporations have the city of New Athens under their thumbs, and it’s up to the New Athens Special Police to make things right. It’s aimed at 13 and older.

“Bleedout” has a decidedly more mature rating. Based on the MMO video game, it takes place in the present day, only all the oil wells on Earth suddenly ran dry, throwing things into chaos. Several artists, including Howard Chaykin and Ben Templesmith, worked on the story’s chapters.

For your chance to win the pair, send your name and address to ehenrickson@detnews.com. Use “Comics” as your subject line, and enter only once by Sept. 23. U.S. entries only.
