DC announces graphic novel blitz for Kindle Fire

This morning, DC announced an exclusive deal to bring 100 graphic novels to Amazon’s newly announced Kindle Fire.

Titles include “Watchmen,” “Batman: Arkham City” and “Superman: Earth One.” They’re available for pre-order at the Kindle Store. It looks like a pretty good mix, with several Vertigo titles, including “Sandman” and “Fables,” and not just superhero stuff.

The Kindle Fire is Amazon’s upcoming tablet device to challenge Apple’s iPad. It’s interesting that DC is going with the upstart rather than the more established player. It’ll be about half the size of an iPad, which would be a deal killer for me. If I’m going to read a comic on a tablet, the iPad is the absolute minimum size I’d want to go. It will go on sale Nov. 15.
