“Captain America: The First Avenger” came out on DVD and Blu-ray this week. I reviewed it in a compare-and-contrast with “Green Lantern,” and it won handily.
But another “Captain America” is also out on video. Two cheesy TV movies from 1979 have hit store shelves from Shout! Factory, and I’ve got a copy of the set to give away.
The movies starred Reb Brown, who went on to play “Yor, the Hunter From the Future” and other TV roles. In a twist on the origin, he plays former Marine Steve Rogers, who must be injected with his father’s superserum to save his life after an accident. With his shield and souped-up motorcycle, he saves the day.
The sequel, “Captain America II: Death Too Soon” featured Christopher Lee (“Lord of the Rings” and countless B movies) as a terrorist named Miguel.
