The latest “Conan” movie may not have been a huge hit, but there’s still no denying the enduring interest in the barbarian in fantasy/sci-fi circles.
That aspect is explored in the hardcover artbook “Conan the Phenomenon: The Legacy of Robert E. Howard Fantasy Icon” by Paul M. Sammon, which looks at the many incarnations from Robert E. Howard’s original stories with Frank Frazetta’s iconic artwork to various comic book, TV and movie treatments. (Who can forget Arnold Schwarzenegger in his first major role?)
Heck, even the old animated series is getting released on DVD.
I’ve got a copy of the book, along with a 3D/2D Blu-ray combo pack of the new film starring Jason Mamoa, to give away. The movie will be released on Tuesday.
