Production is ramping up on the next “Star Trek” movie, but there’s no need to wait for that to get your next fix.
There are, of course, several series of “Star Trek” books on the market, and I recently got two paperbacks from Pocket Books that I’m giving away.
The first is “Star Trek: Enterprise — The Romulan War: To Brave the Storm” by Michael A. Martin. It’s the second in the “Romulan War” saga. The Romulans are running roughshod over the Coalition of Planets, marginalizing Vulcan, Andor and Tellar. Capt. Jonathan Archer and the Enterprise are all that can save the fragile coalition.
If the “Next Generation” is more your style, included in the package is “Rise Like Lions” by David Mack. But this one is set in the Mirror Universe and features Miles O’Brien leading a band of freedom fighters against the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance while that alliance itself is threatened from within. Meanwhile, a group started by Spock a hundred years earlier is moving ahead on its own agenda.
