See 'MST3K' stars in 'Cinematic Titanic' live, then win latest DVD set

It’s been ages since I’ve done a “Mystery Science Theater 3000″ giveaway,  so what better way to honor the stars’ appearance in Metro Detroit?

That’s right original cast members Joel Hodgson (Joel),  Trace Beaulieu (Crow, Dr. Forrester), J. Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo, Dr. Erhardt), Frank Conniff (TV’s Frank) and Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester) will be at the Royal Oak Music Theatre on Saturday for two showings of “Cinematic Titanic,” a live-action version of the classic movie-lampooning show.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. for showings of “The Astral Factor” and “Doomsday Machine,” respectively. Tickets are $35 each or $50 for the double feature.

Pehl also recently self-published a collection of stories and essays about her career called “Employee of the Month and Other Big Deals.”

But what am I giving away? The “Mystery Science Theater 3000: XXIII” collection from Shout! Factory. The four-DVD set, which will be out next month so I won’t be able to send it to the winner right away, includes the movies “King Dinosaur,” “The Castle of Fu Manchu,” “Code Name: Diamond Head” and “Last of the Wild Horses,” along with several extras.

For your chance to win, send your name and address to ehenrickson@detnews.com. Use “MST3K” as your subject line, and enter only once by March 2. U.S. entries only.
