Detroit stop for 'Comic-Con' documentary canceled

After announcing a screening event and mini comic con at the Fillmore Detroit for April 22, the producers of Morgan Spurlock’s documentary “Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope” have canceled the event.

I guess that explains why no one ever got back to me with ticket information.

The “Super-Size Me” director visited the famous San Diego event in 2010 and filmed his documentary, following several individuals, from costumers to aspiring artists. The movie will be available on Video on Demand this Friday.

The previously announced screening tour has been scrapped and replaced with a new one that includes a Q&A with Spurlock but doesn’t come anywhere near Detroit, not even Chicago.

But for my non-local readers, the dates and links to tickets are as follows:

April 9, Orlando, FL – http://tugg.com/events/409
April 10, Miami, FL – http://www.tugg.com/events/406#.T3UXlM3Agc9
April 13, Baltimore, MD – http://www.tugg.com/events/408#.T3UXws3Agc9
April 15, New Haven, CT – http://tugg.com/events/401
April 16, Las Vegas, NV – http://tugg.com/events/407
April 19, Long Island, NY – http://tugg.com/events/411
April 22, Atlanta, GA – http://tugg.com/events/show/404#.T3Uf-exWrUM

There’s still a roundabout way a screening could be brought to the Metro Detroit area, but it wouldn’t include the other events, just the movie.
