Paramount announces Sept. 18 release date for 'Indiana Jones' Blu-rays

Paramount made it official today and announced a release date for it’s big “Indiana Jones” Blu-ray set.

The digitally restored movies will make their debut Sept. 18 from Lucasfilm and Paramount.

All four “Indy” movies will be in the set: “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” (The latter wasn’t great, but I think it was underrated.)

The team went back to the original negatives for the restoration, and Paramount says the sound was carefully crafted to work in 5.1 surround with dialogue improved and “small technical flaws” fixed.

The set will include documentaries, interviews, featurettes and new bonus features that haven’t been revealed.

Maybe they can reveal how the art makes Harrison Ford look younger and more dashing than in the original movie.
