Just thought I’d drop a quick note to apologize for the lack of updates lately.
The biggest culprit is the temporary (I hope) loss of my PlayStation 3, which is also my main video player. Yes, I can watch DVDs on my computer, but I don’t like to, and it’s not hooked up to the TV. Plus, work has been kind of crazy, anyway.
I was in the middle of “Lego Batman 2″ last week, and it locked up as it went to a cutscene. After that it stopped recognizing discs. Downloaded games play fine, and I still got the icon that the disc was in there, but it wouldn’t recognize what kind of disc it was.
I hoped it was just overheating, but it wasn’t working the next couple days, either. So after a couple days in the shop, I was informed it needs a new laser. And now I’m waiting for that to arrive. A holiday in the middle of the week didn’t help, of course.
I just hope it can be saved. It’s a first-gen (maybe second, I forget) console that’s backwards compatible. Besides the “Lego” games, my old PlayStation 2 discs of Atari 2600 games are about the only thing I have a chance of beating on my own (go, “Adventure”!), so I’d hate to lose it. That’s why Mike reviews the big-boy games.
