Geoff Johns 'Green Lantern' signing sold out

It took less than a day for Green Brain Comics in Dearborn to go through its 125 tickets for Friday’s signing by Metro Detroit native and DC bigwig Geoff Johns.

The 5-7 p.m. signing was a perk for interested people who picked up “Green Lantern” No. 0 from the store. Tickets were limited because of Johns’ schedule.

The comic, as I wrote about yesterday, introduces an Arab-American Green Lantern to the Corps. Simon Baz is a laid-off autoworker from Dearborn who’s chosen by the ring after being arrested on terrorism charges when a van he stole turns out to contain a big bomb.

But while the signing is filled up, you can still see Johns at his program Saturday at the Arab American National Museum down the street from the store. At 4 p.m., Johns will give a career retrospective followed by a Q&A. The event is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served seating basis. The museum is at 13624 Michigan Ave.

For those who did get tickets to Friday’s signing, Green Brain owner Dan Merritt posted the following note on Facebook:

4:30 should be early enough to start the line on Friday. The “no guarantee” disclaimer on your ticket means you do not have a set place in line (like 1st or 12th, etc.), nor does it guarantee you will be able to meet Mr. Johns if you show up after 7 p.m.
