More love for Detroit in the new DC Universe!

UPDATE: Vibe’s Detroit origin confirmed.

MTV Geek! got an interesting exclusive: DC is taking the annoying trend of variant covers to a whole new level with the launch of “Justice League of America.”

There will be 52 variant covers, one for each state, plus Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, according to the site.

Also announced were solo books for members Vibe and Katana.

According to a follow-up post, Vibe will still hail from Detroit, so that means there will be two Metro Detroit heroes with their own titles, the other being Dearborn’s new Green Lantern, Simon Baz.Vibe is a former D-lister with a bit of a cult following from the old Justice League Detroit days.

Add that to  Cyborg’s new Metro Detroit origin and Flash of Earth-2 being from Lansing, and the state is pretty well-represented in the new universe.

Head over to MTV Geek for more details and artwork.
