I’m overdue for a good anime giveaway, so here’s a doozy for you: not one, not two, but three seasons of “Maria Watches Over Us” from RightStuf and Nozomi.
This is a series I had every intention of watching, but I didn’t have time for the first volume, then more volumes arrived, and, well, more other stuff arrived, and I’ve decided to share the bounty with you instead. (I still need to watch vol. 3 of “Kimi ni Todoke.” As much as I hate the idea, I could really use a good flu to get caught up on my DVR and anime.)
Anyways, in case you’re not familiar with “Maria Watches Over Us,” here’s the vol. 1 description from RightStuf:
When Yumi Fukuzawa entered the Lillian Girls’ Academy, a prestigious all-girls Catholic school in Tokyo, she never imagined that she would catch the eye of beautiful and demure Sachiko Ogasawara, one of the school’s most popular students. Now Sachiko has offered to be Yumi’s sœur — her “sister” and guide for all her years at the academy. The whole idea has Yumi completely flustered — after all, they hardly know each other! The entire school is abuzz with rumors about the two of them, but Yumi is conflicted over accepting Sachiko’s offer. While she admires Sachiko, being her sœur would also mean constantly being at the center of the entire school’s attention!
Sounds like my kind of coming-of-age drama. Vol. 4 will be released in March. You’re on your own for that one.
For your chance to win , send your name and address to ehenrickson@detnews.com. Use “Maria” as your subject line and enter only once by Feb. 8. U.S. entries only.
