Please pray for Rev. Wesley Johnson. He was rushed to St. John’s Hospital early Sunday morning, when doctors discovered a hole in his small intestines. He underwent emergency surgery — had 18 inches of his small intestines removed — and remains on a ventilator in ICU. His wife, Imogene, says he’s making slow progress, but is “weak in the natural world.”
Rev. Johnson and Imogene are key members of Shield of Faith Church and Friends of Fletcher Field. Without them, the neighborhood reunions and the wondrous interfaith service in March 2008 at the church formerly known as Holy Name never would have happened.
More than anything, I want you to know that the Johnsons are two of the kindest, gentlest, caring and generous people I have ever met, and I’m lucky to call them friends.
