So it sounds like the thrift store at St. Raymond — which does so much in its community — is in trouble. The woman who runs it has taken ill and will be out for a substantial amount of time.
To keep the store in operation, they’re looking for volunteers on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If you or somebody you know were ever involved with St. Raymond or Our Lady of Good Council, this is a great opportunity to reconnect with that community. Also, if you have a middle- or high-school student who needs to do community service, this would count — although the student would obviously need to be accompanied by an adult.
If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Mary Lou Gura at email@example.com.
I’d also like to take this time to remind you about our annual cleanup at Fletcher Field, which will take place on Saturday, June 6, at 10 a.m. — after a reconnaissance meeting at the park on Sunday, May 31, at 2 p.m. At that time, we’ll come up with the projects that we’ll focus on the following week.
Finally, here are two more ways you can help our cause:
— We just registered our non-profit partner, CKM Community Development Corporation, in the Kroger Community Rewards Program. When you shop at Kroger and use your Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card, we will receive cash donations if you register your card online and provide them with our number: 76654. Here’s the website to sign up: https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards. You can also register your card at your favorite Kroger store. For questions, call 1-877-576-7587.
— The same goes for the Meijer’s reward program, which is accessible via Meijer.com/rewards. Once you set up your account, then you add CKM Community Development Corporation’s number: 421624. For questions, call 1-800-962-7011.
That is all. Have a great day! — Michael
